Our Experience With Bar G Ranch
Our experience with Bar G Ranch was amazing. It was our first time to split beef with someone but Christy & Dale guided us through the process step by step, making it as easy as possible.
We cooked one of the sirloin steaks the day we received the beef. Oh My!
We will never want to get beef anywhere else!

Tasty and Tender
Better than what you get in the store
"I've been raised around cattle most of my life, but up in age, I no longer have cattle. Seeing the live steer before butcher and the way it was fed was spectacular. The quality of the meat is far better than what you get in the store."

Appetite for good beef
Bar G has far exceeded our expectations of good beef. Growing up eating beef raised by my granddad in Hammon, OK, I not only know what good beef should taste like, also how hard the work is to run cattle. Bar G's beef taste just like it did years ago on the farm.
So glad we are able to support their efforts and our appetite for good beef.

Best tasting beef money can buy
I bought a half beef from the Bar G Ranch.
It was the best tasting beef money can buy. The T-bone Steak was so so good. The Hamburgers from the ground beef are also good. The meat is so tasty.
By the way, Dale and Christy go out of their way to work with their customers.

A beef smokin' connoisseur
My wife and I love meat and I consider myself a beef smokin' connoisseur. So when we moved to Oklahoma we set out immediately in search of some good beef. I saw a flier about Bar G Ranch at our local cafe and gave the number a call.
Christy and Dale welcomed us to Oklahoma and invited us over to their place to pick up my half cow. Dale was fantastic, he went through the varieties of meat with me. I told him what I wanted and he packaged it up. Christy is also great, she is so cheerful and friendly and she would even follow up to see how we liked the meat.
I have grilled and smoked ribs, burgers and all of the different cuts of steaks. One would come out even juicier than the next! I have also made the most delicious casseroles and goulash with their ground beef. We are greatly enjoying the wonderful homegrown beef and will definitely place future orders with Bar G Ranch!

What is the difference between "Grass Finished" and "Grain Finished"?
A "Grass Finished" animal is not fed grain or placed on feed. The meat is normally a "leaner" meat.
In a "Grain Finished" calf, the calf is fed grain and hay for the last 90 to 120 days before processing. The meat is more marbled and can be more tender.
However, both are cared for the exact same during their life before "finishing."
What is "Hang Weight"?
"Hang Weight" or "Rail Weight" is the weight of the animal when it is ready to go into the cooler for aging.
It is what you would normally see hanging on a hook inside the cooler.
Is the beef I'm getting "Aged"?
Yes! Your beef will hang in the cooler for 10-14 days depending on the moisture and fat content. During this time the flavor intensifies before packaging.
Can I "Choose" how many steaks and what kind?
It is our desire to provide you with the cuts of beef your family enjoys.
When choosing a "Whole" or "Half" beef you will be given a cut sheet. This will allow you to choose what type of cuts will be packaged for you.
A quarter or eighth beef will be standard cuts of steak, roasts, and ground beef.
How and where are the calves raised in your operation?
We're glad you asked! Our cattle are raised and grown in central Oklahoma. We wean our calves between 6 and 7 months of age. They are stage weaned to reduce stress in the calf and mama cow.
They are always on natural grass (or hay in the winter). They are never on growth hormones or fed antibiotics or steroids. They are raised and cared for in the most natural and stress free atmosphere we can provide.
It may sound strange to some but we care for our cattle and strive to put their need even before our own.
To us...It is more than a job...It is a "Responsibility!"
